**Description:** The candidate will be required to support the Central mechanical design Verification team by performing drawing and model verification/checking. Final products will support product schedule requirements and customer needs. The candidate will ensure that design releases are accurate, error-free, affordable, and producible engineering drawings and/or models including the advancement of DSR 4-6 models. The candidate will be held accountable to provide Error metrics on a weekly basis. Candidate will work in a collaborative environment to help deliver the next generation of Mechanical Products supporting SSC.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an emerging authority.
-Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (or equivalent work experience)
-Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis
-Mechanical design experience
-Familiar with mechanical hardware manufacturing processes
-Creo modeling (or similar), drafting and release proficiency
-EPDM experience, drawing / and model release process
-Prior Design Verification (checking) experience
-Experience using CAD model as record of authority (Data Set Rating 2- 6)
-Demonstrated commitment to advancement processes and products
-Design for Manufacturability (DFM) experience
-Composites design and manufacture experience
-Additive manufacturing experience
-Currently certified to check both Drawings and Models
-Mechanical design (min 7yrs) experience
-Working knowledge of ASME drafting standards including GD&T
-Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary product development teams
-Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
-Ability to manage multiple assignments and customers simultaneously
