Primary Function: Provide age-appropriate activities that will promote
the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of infants
and toddlers.Educational Level: Infant/Toddler CDA or Bachelor\'s Degree
or Associate\'s Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent from a
two-year College of Technical School. Qualifications: To perform this
job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential

environment is usually moderate. Essential Duties: GENERAL 1. Plans
cooperatively with parents; implements activities in the classroom.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_2. Provides children with a creative learning
environment and varied developmental experiences. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_3.
Arranges the room well to create a full learning environment.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_4. Implements the curriculum to fit the individual.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_5. Individualizes daily activities to meet the
assessed individual needs of the children. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_6.
Implements ongoing assessment of children (observing, recording,
evaluating). \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_7. Provides individualized activities
daily. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_8. Provides activities and experiences in the
following areas, integrating each into the program: 9. Art, Science,
Music, Math, Literature and Reading, Language Development, Social
Education, Dramatic Play, Health, Nutrition, Self-Help, and Motor
Skills. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_10. Interacts with children in the classroom,
on the playground, and at mealtime. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_11. Uses
reinforcement that builds a child\'s positive self-image.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_12. Reinforces the role of the parents as primary
teachers/influences of the child. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_13. Have parents
assist in the assessment of the child\'s progress and establish goals
for him/her. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_14. Encourages parent observation and
participation in the classroom, on the playground, etc.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_15. Provides orientation and supervision for
volunteers. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_16. Manages time, materials, and
responsibilities wisely to ensure a well-run classroom.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_17. Assists parents to coordinate the child\'s
learning activities at school with supportive experiences in the home.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_18. Makes effective home visits (at least 2 per year),
and conducts center conferences. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_19. Identifies and
refers children and families in need of special services.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_20. Assists in medical, dental, and psychological
screenings and examinations. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_21. Assists in
recruiting, identifying, and evaluating children with disabilities.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_22. Assists in recruiting eligible children.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_23. Removes conditions that may prevent the room\'s
and center\'s environment from being safe, orderly, sanitary, and
conducive to learning. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_24. Provides an environment for
meal time and snack time which makes the feeding situation a pleasant
opportunity for learning. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_25. Interacts with children
at mealtime, eats with children and eats what they are served.
\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_26. Encourages children to eat, but does not use food
as punishment or reward. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_27. Provides involvement
opportunities for children in activities related to meal services
(serving, cleaning up, and setting table). \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_28. Works
cooperatively with other staff. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_29. Attends staff meet
