Whether you have many years of experience or are in the early stages on your career, you can find a rewarding position at Grady!SUMMARYThe Patient Safety Specialist is responsible for assisting the Patient Safety/Accreditation Officer with the implementation of the system-wide patient safety improvement and management program. They also assist with the identification and education of staff in system and process improvement initiatives. Identify and report to the Patient Safety/Accreditation Officer adverse occurrences, events, and unintended patient outcomes that are reportable to Regulatory Bodies (DHR, Joint Commission etc.). They initiate and perform Root Cause Analysis, FMEA's, and Due Diligence reviews specific to adverse outcomes, sentinel events and medical errors. QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, or other health care related field; or an Associate's Degree in nursing along with a Bachelor's DegreeOne to two years of experience in quality, risk, and patient safety principles is required.Current Georgia licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse is required.Must possess knowledge of the current Joint Commission standards, performance improvement and survey process.Must possess excellent teaching, consultative, and interpersonal skill and have a clear understanding of the timeliness of the organization reporting reportable events to regulatory bodies.Must possess superior organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills, be self-motivated, and have strong oral and written communication skills.Knowledge and experience with use of computer and related software programs, as well as demonstrated experience with data collection, data analysis, and data reporting, is required.Must possess good leadership skills, problem solving ability, and must maintain and direct confidential issues as appropriate.Equal Opportunity Employer-Minorities/Females/Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity.EOE-Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
