**Position Overview:**

The Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for providing patient care/intervention in the Ambulatory Clinic setting, working under the supervision of the Medical Director, Manger of Clinics, and/or designee. Provides direct patient care for patients: coordinates the delivery of services. The PA is concurrently responsible for the development, implementation and on-going evaluation of medical care policies and procedures in conjunction with the Medical Director. They work cooperatively with the licensed, administrative, and support staff to ensure the on-going operation of the department. The PA directly supervises health care professionals and support staff in compliance with the state of California and/or Oregon Nurse Practice Act certification and standards. Is directly responsible for quality patient care. Advocates for specific needs of client population. The PA shall provide urgent and primary care in an outpatient setting. The PA/NP should work independently with physician back-up as required by diagnostic uncertainty or inability of the practitioner to address the complaint due to scope of practice or complexity of the problem.

**Qualifications:**

**Education**

Nurse Practitioner:

Bachelor Degree required

Master Degree preferred

Physician Assistant:

Graduation from an approved PA Master's Degree program required

**Certification/Registration/Licensure**

Nurse Practitioner:

CA and OR NP license (Single state license required at the time of hire with the second license required on the first date of employment)

DEA furnishing license

BLS, ACLS, PALS

Physician Assistant:

CA and OR PA license (Single state license required at the time of hire with the second license required on the first date of employment)

PA with Clinical/DEA required

Basic Life Support required

ACLS required

Casting Certification required

**Experience:**

6 months related clinical experience is preferred. Casting experience is required for this role.

Must obtain Medical Staff privileges prior to hire. Must understand, speak, and write English. Able to speak other languages highly desirable. Update CME as required by license. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions; ability to perform simple and repetitive tasks; ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to a given work load; ability to get along with co-workers or peers and general public; ability to recognize potential hazards and follow appropriate precautions; ability to understand and remember detailed instructions. Participate in committee meetings and groups as needed. Maintain effective working relationships with patients, visitors, staff, physicians, other PAs, FNPs, and ancillary workers. Maintain close working relationship with outside health service professionals and organizations
