The Medical Staff
Coordinator provides technical and administrative support to the Director of
Quality and Safety (Director) in association with Medical Staff activities and will be located at
Memorial Medical Center.Support
services are assigned by the CVR Medical Staff Services Manager and can include
processing/credentialing of provider applications of the Medical staff,
attendance at designated medical staff department and committee meetings, as
well as support services for Medical Staff Officers, Departments and
Committees.Functions are performed in
accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations; The Joint
Commission (TJC) and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
Standards; other Federal and State Regulations, such as Title 22; and MMC
Department Policies & Procedures.
Serving the greater Stanislaus County with 423 plus acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center provides a full continuum of care including 24-hour emergency care, inpatient and outpatient surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics, nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care, physical therapy, and home health. Specialized care includes Memorial Regional Cancer Center and Memorial Heart Institute.
+ Five (5) yearsof increasingly responsible executive secretarial or administrativeassistant experience.
+ Three(3) years experience spent in a Medical Staff Office setting.
+ Successfulcompletion of a Medical Terminology course, or willingness to complete,within one (1) year.
+ Experiencein communicating negative information and gaining the cooperation ofphysicians in a professional manner for compliance purposes.
+ Possessexcellent organizational and prioritization skills and have the ability towork at several projects simultaneously.
+ Abilityto successfully complete job requirements using Microsoft Officesoftware. This includes the ability to work in a shared databaseenvironment on a continual basis.
+ Abilityto type a minimum of 50 wpm
+ Commandingknowledge of English grammar and spelling with the ability to apply theknowledge to draft/edit correspondence, meeting minutes, reports,etc.
+ Abilityto manage own time and schedule own tasks. Must have initiative towork efficiently without constant supervision and direction.
+ Mustdemonstrate excellent written/verbal interpersonal communication andproblem solving skills.
+ Abilityto handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
+ Abilityto read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degreerequired to perform the job.
+ Abilityto function in a demanding, multi-task and deadline driven environment.
+ Experiencein all aspects of meeting preparation, including meeting minute taking.
+ Professionalbusiness image according to policy.
+ Mustbe able to travel in and out of Stanislaus County, includingtranscontinental travel.If CVRand/or own vehicle used on Hospital business, must possess validCalifornia Drivers License and upon request, proof of insurance
+ A current (CPCS and/or CPMSM) certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) is highly desired or candidate is currently working on getting certification.
+ Experience in ECHO Credentialing Software.
+ AA in Health/Business Administration or related.
