Laboratory Services Supervisor
is responsible for daily operations of the assigned department(s), such as
Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, or POCT, providing diagnostic testing
service to inpatient, outpatient or other clients requested by physicians.
Responsible in writing policies and procedures according to compliance with the
Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies. TheLaboratory Services Supervisoris also responsible for supervisingscheduling, training, monitoring QC/QA,
performance improvement, and evaluation of the lab staff members (competency),
including CLS's, MLT's and CPT's assigned to the department(s). The incumbent
supervises both technical and non-technical employees, and supports the
Laboratory Manager and other members of the lab management team in achieving
the goals of the department as well as those of the SDMC. Adheres to the code
of conduct set forth in Sutter Delta Medical Center, Standards for Business
Conduct policies and procedures. Performs duties in a safe, ethical, and honest
BA/BS degree with emphasis in Medical Technology or Biochemistry/Biological Science required
Three to five (3-5) years of working experience as a licensed Clinical Laboratory Scientist required
Two years in leadership role preferred
In-depth knowledge of the operation of assigned department
prior knowledge of computerized laboratory information system is highly desirable
Demonstrates the ability to plan, coordinate, direct, and evaluate the departmental operation.
Demonstrates good interpersonal skills when interacting with patients, staff, and physicians.
Works effectively as a team member.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently to solve problems and willingness to share information with other patient care teams. Has the ability to accept or initiate, implement, and evaluate changes.
