The new Sutter Santa Rosa Regional Hospital (SSRRH) is located in the heart of Northern California's famous wine country, just 50 miles north of San Francisco and 30 minutes from the beautiful Pacific Coast. Providing quality health care services to the residents of Sonoma County for over 130 years, SSRRH has 118 licensed beds (84 Inpatient, 24 Outpatient & 10 Labor & Delivery) and serves a population of more than 130,000+ people. Centers of excellence include: Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Women's and Children's Services, and Level III NICU.
A Clinical Laboratory Scientist at SSRRH is responsible for routine testing completed in assigned sections of the Clinical Laboratory (i.e., Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Coagulation, or Urinalysis). A CLS must be capable of basic instrumentation troubleshooting, resolving basic testing problems, calibration of instruments, and running/analyzing the appropriate controls to assure accurate test results. In addition, a CLS must be able to perform this position under pressure and may be required to work during any shift depending on the department's needs and their training.
B.S. or B.A. in a biological science. Successful completion of a one year internship in a Clinical Laboratory Scientist program. Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license required. Experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in an acute care hospital setting preferred, but not required.
